Category volume

One stove that runs on whatever fuel is on the shelf.

In camping stoves the volume sits in one place: a single-burner tabletop unit around EUR 30-45 that takes both a butane cartridge and a propane cylinder. Dual-fuel is not a premium feature in this category, it is the reason a buyer picks one listing over another in a shop where only one fuel type is stocked.

Why this programme

What actually decides this purchase.

8,000 BTU single burner on butane or propane, with EN 417 connection, piezo ignition and a moulded carry case.

Dual fuel is the whole selling point

Butane cartridges are cheap and widely stocked in Europe; propane cylinders work below freezing. A stove that accepts both removes the buyer's biggest hesitation, which is arriving at a campsite with the wrong canister.

Cold-weather behaviour

Butane loses pressure near freezing, propane does not. For shoulder-season and emergency use, the propane path is what keeps the product usable when it matters most.

Ignition that works with gloves on

Piezo ignition integrated into the control knob, with a flame that can be turned down to a genuine simmer rather than two settings: off and blowtorch.

Packs into its own case

Around 3.3 lb and supplied with a moulded carry case, so it fits a weekend kit or a car boot. Weight and pack size decide which listing wins the comparison table.

Running cost

A low-ticket, high-frequency category.

The stove is a one-off purchase; the fuel is the repeat. That is why retail buyers care more about canister compatibility and case quality than about BTU bragging rights. A stove that only takes one cartridge type loses the reorder to the one that takes two.

Manufacturing partner

Yongkang stove cluster, export-ready route.

Volume production comes from a Yongkang gas-appliance factory with CE and UKCA certification and existing dual-fuel tooling, including a dual-use butane stove that has sold in the thousands on its domestic platform. Because that factory does not accept direct export orders, export shipments are routed through a partner factory in the same cluster that holds ISO 9001, CE and LFGB and explicitly supports export orders.

Buyer questions

Questions buyers ask before the first order.

Gas appliances fall under the Gas Appliances Regulation (EU) 2016/426, supported by EN 521 for portable LPG appliances. A notified-body certificate is required, and it is the first document to request from any supplier. CE marking alone is not evidence of compliance.

On propane, yes. Butane loses vapour pressure as temperature drops, so a butane-only stove effectively stops working near 0°C. Dual fuel is what makes the product usable in winter and in emergency kits.

1,000 units for private label. Stock models can be quoted at lower volumes for sampling and market testing.

The stove ships with the EN 417 interface, and canisters are normally sourced and filled locally to avoid pressurised-goods transport restrictions. We can quote the stove and accessories together, but fuel is handled in-market.
